flume is designed, not built. Its design book holds the design whole.
Roadmap
Nothing of flume is built yet. Each step ends with something running on
real work before the next one depends on it. A step is done when a
check passes or an observation holds. The step names are the plan’s, in
agentplot/blueprints’ design/capture/plan.md. flume needs only crew’s
rules to extract from, so its own steps proceed beside millpond’s.
flume’s own steps
Section titled “flume’s own steps”-
L1 · The statement. flume’s statement is written from the capture design and the crew rules it takes over: a launch, places, kinds and stages, prompt delivery, stage ends, status, tidying, and what flume never does. A fresh model reconstructs flume from it, and the questions it asks are ruled and folded back in.
Needs nothing. Done when the reconstruction’s questions are ruled and folded in, Vale is clean, and the statement lands on blueprints’
main. -
L2 · The repository’s rules. This repository, in Rust on kit-standard’s code profile, gains its founding decisions: one place, one agent per stage; a stage ends on its deliverable; plugins outside the core. With them come its rules, its sluice gate,
cliff.tomland its OpenSpec configuration.Needs L1. Done when sluice protects
mainand the first change lands through it. -
L3 · The core and the Claude Code plugin.
flume launch, status --json,tell,stop,retry,drop,tidyandprompt, with places, the three kinds and a repository’s or a launch’s own. Prompt delivery is checked against the agent’s transcript, and stage ends are read from deliverables, a change’s from its OpenSpec files. The plugin brings/launchand servesstatusover MCP.Needs L2. Done when a fix launched from a session lands through sluice and its place is tidied, and a change runs construct, code and verify with its status showing its tasks ticked. A stage whose pane goes quiet with no deliverable is not ended, and tidying keeps a branch that holds commits its base lacks.
-
L4 · The herdr plugin. The sidebar of places in flight, with kind, stage, agent state and a change’s tasks, and keys to open, tell, stop and retry.
Needs L3. Done when the plugin installs from flume’s tag, and a fix and a change launched from herdr show each stage in the sidebar until they land.
Where it meets the others
Section titled “Where it meets the others”-
P6 · millpond sends an item through flume. millpond’s
sendnames a repository and a kind, records the send, hands flume the brief, and writes the landing against the item from sluice’s record. An inbox whose settings hand items to crew refuses a send.Needs millpond’s tools (P4) and L3. Done when an item of two bumps sent from herdr lands through sluice, the item shows its landing, and a send from crew’s inbox is refused.
-
C7 · crew calls flume. crew starts each stage’s agent in a place through flume and reads stage ends from
flume status, keeping its plans, bolts, slots, dispatcher, conductors and approvals.Needs crew’s amended record (C1) and L3. Done when a bolt of one unit and one chore lands with every place and stage started through flume, and no crew code makes a worktree itself.
Others wait on flume too. headwater’s plugins (H7) need L3 for the fix key. sounding’s core (Q3) needs L3 and its herdr plugin (Q4) needs L4, since a sounding’s place and session are flume’s.
